PRIVACY POLICY

This privacy policy sets out how The Montessori Society AMI (UK) (hereafter referred to as the Society) uses and protects any information that you give us when you use our services. The Society needs to collect and keep certain personal information in order to fulfil its Contractual and Consent obligations. From 25 May 2018 the processing of this personal information is governed by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018.


The personal data we keep and process

When you use one or more of our services, we may ask for your name, address, contact email address and phone number. Other personal data may also be requested such as your qualification(s) or the name of your school. The Society uses your personal data to manage membership benefits, send out renewal information, e-newsletters, publications and other documentation. From time to time, we may also use your information to contact you for our own research purposes, to improve our products and services.

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so. We may use your personal information to send you promotional information about third parties which we think you may find interesting, e.g. information on training or parenting courses.

All personal data is password protected. We take steps to ensure that the data we keep is accurate, up to date and secure, and we do not keep it for any longer than is necessary. If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please email us. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.

Society members are able to add, edit or delete personal data using an individual password to access their membership entry on our database. If you wish to cancel your membership and be removed from the database, please email us. Members are also able to add, edit or delete the details that they wish to appear to other members on the Society website. Personal data may also be added, edited or deleted by designated Society staff.


Security

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. To prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect. Your personal data is stored electronically in our membership database which is provided by Wild Apricot, a Canadian based company. The Society website may contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.


How we use cookies
